Banter: Week 6

10/09/2024
Just a bit of banter. No around the league today.

Joe Burrow - Washington Fantasy Team

This is the first QB to win the Super League player of the week, and despite his real life team's sad performance, he looks like one of the best fantasy QBs of the season. Joe annihilated the Ravens for 5 TDs and just under 400 yards. While WFT did trade for Joe Burrow this season, he also had him last year and I think there may be a special connection between Joe Shiesty and WFT manager Curtis. This was one of the biggest wins in franchise history for WFT. Since the NFL is dumb and won't let you put their highlights on a different website, I'll start showing career highlights for the players that win.

Sacks in the City vs. Zark's Sharks

Number one is up for grabs this week as the top two teams on the season face off. Both teams are 4-1, which makes a win here feel incredible and a loss could feel like a big step back. Both teams currently lead their respective divisions, and while whoever loses will be putting that status in jeopardy, these teams both feel like playoff locks regardless of the outcome here. I'm just excited to see this matchup play out. The Sharks are coming off their first loss of the season, and they also will be without Nico Collins this week as the emerging superstar. Even without him, the Sharks have a scary lineup top to bottom. The Sacks are also missing a key player in Kyren Williams, who has been one of the most consistent players in fantasy this season. Of course, bringing 3 RBs into the season helps that out a bit, as SL MVP thus far Derrick Henry looks to carry the load. Brian Robinson for the Sharks was just downgraded as I'm writing this, which could be a huge factor in this game. Some matchups to watch: Josh Allen vs. Jayden Daniels, Baker Mayfield vs. Justin Herbert, and Brian Robinson vs. Bijan Robinson (if Brian can go).

Parma Pirates vs. Play Action Jackson

This matchup would easily be the matchup of the week in a normal week. But the schedule makers had to cook. They might have cooked too much because these teams are currently leading the Mickey Mouse Cup standings, which means if both teams have solid weeks, they may have an immediate rematch against each other next week. This isn't a matchup of the week though, but it will absolutely be undecided going into Monday. The main reason is the Jets play on Monday, which means PAJ's whole team plays on Monday. The Pirates will also be active on Monday night, ironically having the Bills defense who are going against the Jets. This causes a huge swing factor, which makes literally anything possible on Monday night.
