Power Rankings: Week 5

10/02/2023
Your commissioner is sick and low energy so this is gonna be simplified into what I like and dislike about every team going forward. Half the league is .500 and anything can happen, and I expect trades to continue to pick up. It's week 5 so that means the real season starts now.

Tier 1: Top Tier

1. Zark's Sharks (-)

What I like from the Sharks going forward:

The best starting lineup in the league, AR15 being a potentially league altering trade asset, Justin Jefferson, Saquon coming back into the mix, good QB depth, and Zach being the GM of the team.

What I don't like about the Sharks going forward:

Minimal RB depth, mid flex depth generally, and lack of pick ammo to keep up with Noah once the trade window re-opens.

2. Bud Ice Penguins (+2)

What I like from the Penguins going forward:

Deepest team in the league by far, Alvin Kamara, elite keepers, assets on assets.

What I don't like about the Penguins going forward:

Tough rivals, tough starting decisions, and Noah can be hit or miss on trades.

3. The SL Dynasty (-)

What I like from the SL Dynasty going forward:

Intangibles, CJ Stroud as a trade asset (or keeper?), CMC, and Tua's incredibly high fantasy ceiling.

What I don't like about the SL Dynasty going forward:

Not a ton of depth, unwillingness to trade draft picks (could be a positive in some ways), and AJ Dillon (drop coming?).

4. Slatt's Slimes (-2)

What I like from the Slimes going forward:

Sam's overall dedication to making big / good moves, Austin Ekeler's return, Jeff Wilson's return, and Tyreek Hill.

What I don't like about the Slimes going forward:

Overall roster was recently gutted to bring in Kelce, the overall bet on Kupp, Matt Stafford, potential tiebreaker battle with rival PGH Crooners, and older keepers.

Tier 2: Playoff Hopefuls

5. Play Action Jackson. (-)

What I like from PAJ going forward:

LAMAR JACKSON, Tony Pollard, Mark Andrews, and the owners are two nice guys if you're not trying to trade with them. Despite the record today I do also like their odds of being top 5 at the end of the season.

What I don't like about PAJ going forward:

Probably hardest rivals situation, poor trade ethics, overall inexperience, mid depth.

6. Parma Pirates (-)

What I like from the Pirates going forward:

Hurts, 2024 asset collection, young keepers, and 2 matchups against Explosive Potential remaining.

What I don't like about the Pirates going forward:

Horrible QB depth, Steelers RBs, just ok flex depth, and the likely event that this team sells at least one player at the trade deadline.

7. PGH Crooners (+2)

What I like from the Crooners going forward:

A lead in the tiebreaker race vs. Slatt Slimes, Explosive Potential as a rival, Kyren Williams, young keepers, and positive intangibles.

What I don't like about the Crooners going forward:

Not a ton of tradable assets, untested trading ability, QB situation, and I don't trust the scoring ability of this squad yet.

Tier 3: Wild Cards

8. UNFINISHED BIZ (-)

What I like from UNFINISHED BIZ going forward:

2-2 record, commitment to make roster better, stupid luck, and a very solid starting lineup.

What I don't like about UNFINISHED BIZ going forward:

Depth is still not up to par with rest of playoff competitors, hit or miss trader (been hitting recently, a miss is coming), just not enough juice to make this roster good enough to win the title this season.

9. Washington Fantasy Team (-2)

What I like from WFT going forward:

Jonathon Taylor's possible return, the commitment to improving this roster, and a few assets to sell at the deadline.

What I don't like about WFT going forward:

1-3 record has them on the outside looking in, general lack of juice to improve team this season, and keeper situation is possibly worst in the league.

10. Explosive Potential (-)

What I like from Explosive Potential going forward:

The explosive potential this team has to be a spoiler team this season, being a big move trader, and the focus on the future of the franchise.

What I don't like about Explosive Potential going forward:

Little to no chances at competing for a title in 2023, 0-4 start.
