Week 2: Matchups
Week 2 is here. Looks like some more blowouts are incoming. Not the greatest start to the Super League season in terms of the matchup slate, but that will quickly change in the next two weeks. I went 3-2 last week on these predictions, Imma count that as a win. Let's go:
Play Action Jackson vs. PGH Crooners
Verdict: PAJ wins
Bud Ice Penguins vs. Washington Fantasy Team
This should be a blowout. But what if it wasn't? Curtis is basically only playing for only upsets at this point, and this would be the mother of them all. Curtis still has a core of solid players. Sure, it would take several Penguin flops for this scenario to occur, but after the outpouring of points from the Penguins last week, they could be due a couple flops. I have to predict Penguins here because I would be a dumbass not to, but keep your eye on this one just in case.
Verdict: Penguins win
The Dynasty vs. Christian's Squad
Hmmm.. JK Dobbins going down was the worst case scenario for Christian's Squad. I am concerned that this could spiral into something bad for both this team and Christian's interest in managing this team this season. Dobbins still slotted in the OP slot on Thursday does not bode well, and neither does this team not receiving a new team name. The intangibles are beginning to dig this franchise into a hole. I haven't even mentioned Jack yet, who has been quite the opposite tangibly and intangibly throughout his Super League tenure. The Dynasty lives up to the last 5 letters of their team name and gets NASTY on the struggling team this week.
Verdict: The Dynasty wins
Zark's Sharks vs. UNFINISHED BIZ
This should be the biggest wash of the week. Again. Nothing to see here.
Verdict: Sharks win
Super League Matchup of the Week: Slatt's Slimes vs. Parma Pirates
I hate putting myself as the MOTW two weeks in a row, especially after the embarrassing showing I had last week. This is a new week however, and I think this matchup will be close and one of the higher scoring matchups of the week. I think my team is poised for a bounce back, as Conner, Barkley, Pacheco, Hurts, Smith, and Higgins all flopped or disappointed in my eyes last week. The Slimes are extremely solid and will put up points. Tyreek Hill could be the X-Factor, coming off a historic week 1. It is also a potential revenge game for Hill as he was traded by the Pirates only a few weeks ago. For the Slimes, this is not a must-win, but would be a very nice win. For the Pirates, every game matters if they want a shot at being relevant at the end of the season. I think the Pirates come back with a solid week 2 and make things interesting after winning their first game of the season.
Verdict: Pirates win
