Power Rankings: Week 12

As an improbable playoff race is unfolding, the other 10 teams simply focus on the postseason, as the real fight for seeding begins. I am going to list each team's remaining schedule and try to project where each team will finish. We only have divisional action until the playoffs. Let the games begin:

FAAB Challenge Week 12: Fiscally Conservative
Challenge Requirements: Have the most FAAB when TNF kicks off this week.
Who can win: 1 team
Winner receives $5 FAAB
Waiting to Flush
Note: Teams in this tier will be getting one sentence until the toilet bowl heats up, unless someone makes a major move. The rankings going forward will reflect my opinion on their rebuild as well as their chances in the toilet bowl. Week 14's power rankings will include a full breakdown of Toilet Bowl scenarios.
12. Muff Punters (➖)
Games Remaining: Bud Ice Penguins, Sacks in the City, The Bridge Road Orcas
Projected Record: 2-12 (0-3 in final stretch)
The Punters may be locked in to a BYE in the toilet bowl unless they can turn things around here late.
11. PT Flea Flik-er (📉-1)
Games Remaining: Slat's Slimes, Play Action Jackson, GIRTH
Projected Record: 5-9 (2-1 in final stretch)
This team moved down because GIRTH won a game, but they might move back up if they can take advantage of a weak ending schedule.
10. Slat's Slimes (📉-1)
Games Remaining: PT Flea Flik-er, GIRTH, Play Action Jackson
Projected Record: 4-9 (1-2 in final stretch)
The Slimes control their own destiny, but a late collapse to the toilet bowl BYE is not impossible.
9. GIRTH (📈+2)
Games Remaining: Bud Ice Penguins, Sacks in the City, The Bridge Road Orcas
Projected Record: 1-13 (0-3 in final stretch)
A nice win, but the team still tied the record for the longest losing streak in league history, so they still are historically bad, just with a nice rebuild.
8. Bud Ice Penguins (➖)
Games Remaining: Muff Punters, The Bridge Road Orcas, Sacks in the City
Projected Record: 6-8 (2-1 in final stretch)
If this projection holds, the Penguins will have had an ok season with top (single pick) odds at #1, with an extra first going into the 2025 draft. That's really good given how this entire tier has done in comparison.
Bubble Warriors
7. The Blue Waffles (➖)
Games Remaining: Washington Fantasy Team, Zark's Sharks, Parma Pirates
Projected Record: 6-8 (0-3 in final stretch)
The Waffles have certainly made things interesting here late, but they face the toughest schedule of any team remaining. The Orcas also have a tough remaining schedule. Anything is possible, but a BYE-mageddon makes this week even tougher. The Waffles deserve credit for even catching the Orcas, but they will need to do something shocking to make it to the playoffs in my opinion. Facing the top three teams in the league in must-win games is a brutal ending stretch, but perhaps those Waffles could gather up their magic and make it work.
6. The Bridge Road Orcas (➖)
Games Remaining: Sacks in the City, Bud Ice Penguins, Muff Punters
Projected Record: 8-6 (2-1 in final stretch)
The Orcas are shitting their pants (do Orcas on Bridge Road wear pants?) in these last couple weeks, but they still have a lot of control on how this shakes out. Shitting pants may be too harsh, as they did put up one of the highest scoring losses of the year. They currently no longer technically control their own destiny in the 7 seed, but the Blue Waffles face a very hard closing schedule. They have to win one of these games to get in, but I believe two wins would seal the deal. CMC is back and is starting to warm up a bit, and Bo Nix has been a revelation.
Top Dawgs
5. Play Action Jackson (📉-1)
Games Remaining: GIRTH, PT Flea Flik-er, Slat's Slimes
Projected Record: 11-3 (3-0 in final stretch)
This projection looks great, but it's really about the division that PAJ plays in. I think they are a step behind other top dawgs right now, but you can't ignore that final projection. This all combined actually projects that they win the regular season. This is by far their most successful season ever, and they do deserve credit for that, but I may have them last in the playoff power rankings, even below the 6 seed, at the present moment. They do have a real chance at a title, especially as the number 1 seed, so they remain a top dawg for now.
4. Sacks in the City (📈+1)
Games Remaining: The Bridge Road Orcas, Muff Punters, Bud Ice Penguins
Projected Record: 10-4 (2-1 in final stretch)
Sacks in the City is cooling off a bit, but they still have an explosive power keg of a team. I think the single biggest X-Factor here is Jayden Daniels. You're starting to see a decline on a team-wide level as JD has declined simultaneously. They also still have key BYE weeks coming up, including in Week 14 which will likely lose them the week. Sacks is solidly in the middle of the playoff bunch, with a real shot at winning the whole damn thing.
3. Washington Fantasy Team (📉-1)
Games Remaining: The Blue Waffles, Parma Pirates, Zark's Sharks
Projected Record: 11-3 (3-0 in final stretch)
What a projection for WFT. An unbelievable one if you read it in week one. The hard part about this section of the projection is that these three teams all play each other. If the Waffles could somehow make it in, all 4 teams from the division would make it which would be astounding. But enough about the division, WFT is legit, and I project that they will win a BYE after everything this season. This team is on fire and I don't think anyone is stopping them coming up, but none of the games will be easy, and I could easily see this projection being wrong. This is why they aren't #1 right now, ya gotta win the games.
2. Zark's Sharks (📈+1)
Games Remaining: Parma Pirates, The Blue Waffles, Washington Fantasy Team
Projected Record: 10-4 (2-1 in final stretch)
This team exploded this week, finally living up to the post-pick-window hype. This has been a very good season for the Sharks once again, with them projected to match last year's win total for back-to-back 10-win seasons. The roster is absolutely absurd as I've pointed out many times in recent weeks. Winning out wouldn't outright guarantee them a BYE, but it would be very close to doing so. I think the Sharks are capable of destruction.
1. Parma Pirates (➖)
Games Remaining: Zark's Sharks, Washington Fantasy Team, The Blue Waffles
Projected Record: 10-4 (1-2 in final stretch)
This is likely my last week at number one for a while, as a BYE-mageddon is about to hit hard against the Sharks this week. The next week isn't much kinder, as I have to face off against another current top three team. The playbook is simple for me now, I need to win 2/3 to get my BYE, which would likely put me at the 1 seed as well. The game versus WFT will decide a lot for both teams. Since these are just projections after all, I'm keeping me at one because I control my own destiny with the two game lead on the first seed currently.
