Power Rankings: Week 3

This week was all about the bounce back. Multiple teams in Super League got their first win this week, and many players came back around. Hell, even Sleeper bounced back. But for those who didn't, it's still early, but battle lines are beginning to be drawn and it's nearing time to deliver. This ranking isn't moving as much this week because I kinda nailed it last week.

1. Zark's Sharks (➖)
There's no surprise here. The Sharks have delivered at the highest level in both of the first two weeks. Being the top scorer in those weeks, the Sharks have poured in over 300 fantasy points this season (so far). This looks like the strongest roster in the league in every way - the best QB duo by a lot, strong RB trio, great WR options, and a top end TE. On top of that, his kicker is currently averaging 15.5 a week. Nothing is really going wrong for the Sharks currently, which has lead to complete dominance in the wake of injuries and flops league wide. Obvious #1.
2. Bud Ice Penguins (➖)
The second week of the Penguins being good was harder to swallow than the first. This team legit looks like they can beat any team on any given week, which after 18 straight wins, is very annoying. It doesn't look like a loss is in the cards for the brothers this next week either, as they face last place on this list, GIRTH. Their next real test will come at possible win 20 - where they face the Orcas in a divisional matchup. This team isn't number one due to a weaker roster than the Sharks overall, but any sign of weakness there will propel this team into the number one spot.
3. Parma Pirates (➖)
I think this is one of the better drafts I've ever had. It should have been, given the extra picks, but I think I got a lot of value on my roster. The Pirates bounced back and got their first win this week, destroying a weak GIRTH squad. Despite the very positive week, the Pirates haven't been seen at full strength yet. AJ Brown missed a game this week, and Jalen Hurts wasn't needed in the blowout win. The realistic scoring output for this team this week with those players is around 160, enough to beat the Sharks this week. That's the kind of roster this is to me, but everything will need to come together to rise on this list (and to win this league). Daniel Jones had a nice week, but Caleb Williams continued his rough play and may be a complete miss of a draft pick. Lineup decisions will be crucial through these next few weeks.
4. Sacks in the City (➖)
Sacks in the City lost easily the most contested matchup of the week, but still managed to put up a very respectable 128 points. That would have been enough to beat many teams this week, so I won't hold it against Nathan and co. The reason I really like this team is the starting lineup. That's an incredible group of guys that look to deliver solid and fun results every week. The reason this team could drop is its lack of depth. Once the BYE weeks roll in, this team's scoring output will be one to watch. Singletary on the bench is a nice piece, but beyond that there's not a ton of playable players at this point. Still, I think this team will be headed to the playoffs based on the early returns.
5. Play Action Jackson (📈+1)
Steven hit my line demanding some glaze in the rankings this week after the 2-0 start. Unfortunately for this team, we are fresh out of glaze. If this team takes care of business next week vs. the Orcas, then we might get a little glaze going. For now, what I can say is this team should cruise to the playoffs. This is undoubtedly the best version of PAJ we have seen. There's options on this roster, and some of the picks that looked horrible two weeks ago don't look so bad today (Aaron Rodgers was still a bad pick though, idc). This team really benefits from having 5 remaining games on the schedule with subpar competition - as the Slimes, Flea Flick-er, and GIRTH are all looking pretty weak. They will stay in the top 6 of this ranking unless disaster occurs, but how high they get depends on the continued level of success.
6. Sir, They Hit The Towers (📈+1)
This team is very hard to rank. They move up a spot due to the huge win, but their two weeks have been polar opposites so far. This win was fueled by bounce back games from Nabers and (a now banged up) Amon Ra St. Brown. I don't know how much I can trust Nabers to deliver this sort of week regularly, but he certainly proved he could be relevant this week. The real issue I see here are the guys who didn't bounce back - namely, Jared Goff, Cole Kmet, and Michael Pittman, all players this team has placed a huge bet on. For this team to truly reach their ceiling, they will need production there, or value in return for those players. Still, this is a step in the right direction for a team who was completely embarrassed in week 1. I think this team has a top 3 ceiling this year, with the floor being missing the playoffs. Also, this team should move it's branding to be just 'The Towers' and make a logo. That would be electric.
7. The Bridge Road Orcas (📉-2)
The Orcas bounce back and pick up their first win of the season, but it certainly wasn't pretty. Last second heroics from Drake London of all people put this team over the top this week, but there was bad news as well. The team's engine, CMC, will miss multiple weeks as he is now on the IR. That engine was supposed to make up for the short comings of the rest of the squad, adding a consistent 15 points, which would have stabilized this team into a playoff team. Tank Dell was the worst keeper of the season, and now he's looking like one of the worst starters of the season. There's not a ton of healthy options for this roster unfortunately, so those IR spots will need to be managed and waiver acquisitions will need to be made here. I don't think this team is completely out of the race yet, especially sitting at 1-1 today, but it feels like a must win game is coming this week vs. Play Action Jackson already. The Orcas are sadly endangered.
8. Muff Punters (📈+1)
9. Slat's Slimes (📉-1)
The Slimes are a sad case this season. I don't think they're the worst team by any means. Their team manager is a smart, charismatic leader to that locker room and shouldn't be counted out in most matchups due to the knowledge and leadership. The issue is the Slimes have the deck entirely stacked against them this season. Bringing Kupp and Kelce into the year together was a bold decision, and it's already paying reverse dividends in the form of an injury and underperformance. If this team continues down this path, they will certainly wind up in the toilet bowl. Just look at the bench. The question remains to be seen if this team will push its chips in to try to get better this year, or wind up a seller in November.
10. PT Flea Flik-er (➖)
This is where the poo poo tier really begins. This team has been in winnable games so far, but nothing has particularly gone their way. They have a couple bright spots on the roster, but they have even more injured players. It's unfortunate that Jackson must pay for the sins of Team Tracey this season, but that's what's happening here. At least Jackson cares about the future of this team, and will almost certainly look to add more draft capital at the November trade window. Tua getting hurt again and LaPorta flopping are two huge negative factors going forward. The waiver battle can still be won by this team, and you never know what can happen in a fantasy season. For now, Jackson is the leader of the worst teams, with almost no hope at a playoff berth at the end of week 2.
11. Washington Fantasy Team (➖)
Curtis got smoked in week 2, and would have gotten smoked by any team in the league. I know this team wants to win, but I'm not sure they will be able to take home many. There is an upper and lower class in Super League this season, and this team is firmly in the lower class. I don't think Curtis' attempts at liquidating his keepers have (or would have) improved his position in any way this season. A tough conversation needs to be had in this front office. This team has had a good season every year in this league, but it ends here as this will not be one of them. If they can find a way to squeeze out a week 3 win, then maybe my tune will change a bit. Easily the weakest team with a win right now.
12. GIRTH (➖)
It doesn't get much worse than this. GIRTH could be the worst team in league history this season. The team manager has made it clear that next season is the goal, but it's impossible to ignore how bad this team really is right now. There's like 3 guys total I like at all long term this year. There needs to be some serious work on the waivers to reduce this team's chances of earning a toilet bowl BYE by mid-season. GIRTH will only have a chance to beat other bottom 3 teams on this list this season. Start thinking of places in New York City we want this guy to walk to.
