Power Rankings: Week 4

It was a long week for a lot of teams. I think I saw most matchups swing back and forth at least once. Blood pressure was raised league wide, and multiple Monday night games led to widespread agony. There's now enough data to start making some claims, so some shake-ups are inbound here. Only two teams remain in the same spot as last week. We have back to back divisional weeks coming up, so bring your A game. Also, the list order has been reversed to add suspense and because the folks in the Super League analytics department say its better for engagement.

12. GIRTH (➖)
The black eye of the league continues their march towards the toilet bowl. They weren't the worst team of the week, but they have still been consistently the worst team this season. They're one of two teams that has yet to break 300 points, and are the lowest of the two. With Pacheco and Puka set to miss extended time, this team will hold this spot for weeks to come. I do respect the activity level on the waivers this week, and some of those guys could work out later. Everyone knows this team's focus should now be the toilet bowl going into week 4.
11. PT Flea Flik-er (📉-1)
A lot has been said about how bad GIRTH has been, but PT Flea is really right there in this conversation. An 0-3 start is a tough entrance to the league, but this is Super League. Adapt or die. One thing can be said for PT Flea, they didn't put themselves in this position unlike other teams on this half of the ranking. With LaPorta likely to miss time, and multiple other starters already on his IR, an 0-4 and even 0-5 start is in play. Both games are winnable with divisional rivals PAJ and GIRTH coming into town the next two weeks. PT vs GIRTH is very likely the toilet bowl finals preview.
10. Washington Fantasy Team (📈+1)
Washington Fantasy Team's players put in work this week, dropping the third highest total in the league for the week. Better yet, it came on the back of his best players - Dak, Burrow, and Taylor who combined for 80 points. If those 3 can keep up production going forward, this team will play spoiler to many teams. They almost did this week, but ran into the wall that is Sacks in the City. Spoiler may be the best case scenario for this squad, as they face the Pirates and Sharks in back to back weeks, two games they will not be favored in. This roster also has more moves to make. As the season progresses towards the second pick window, trading one of his QBs will become essential to ensure success next season.
9. Muff Punters (📉-1)
It's been a rough start to the Muff Punters Super League tenure. This was their worst week yet, dropping the worst output of the week. Rhamondre Stevenson remembered who he was, Tony Pollard and Carr fell back to Earth, and this team still is without franchise player Jordan Love. It isn't all bad though, as Harrison Jr looks like an absolute monster and a very valid pick at number 1 right now. Chubba Hubbard looks very playable too. One concern I have here, despite having two players on the NFL IR, there are none on Super League IR for the Punters. I like the young vibe of this team (no diddy) but that's really the main substance with the Muff Punters currently.
8. Slat's Slimes (📈+1)
The Slimes haven't been great. They lose another game this week, which makes the rise in the polls confusing. The Slimes drop to 1-2 on the season, but that 1 early win may prove to be important going down the stretch. The main reason for the jump - the Muff Punters falling to 0-3, their remaining schedule, and the gap between them and Play Action Jackson may not be as large as once believed. I think the Slimes could make one move and jump into divisional contention. The Slimes have had an uneven start to the year, but still have tallied more points than the other teams below them on this list. They will get to beat up on GIRTH this week and then have a must win in week 5 against PAJ themselves.
7. Play Action Jackson (📉-2)
This is why you never glaze too early. You gotta make sure glaze is earned, not handed out. Glaze from me is worth a lot, some say it could be as valuable as gold or other precious materials. Dropping 100 points in a prove-it game does not earn glaze. The value of glaze is too great for such an outcome. Am I supposed to glaze the fact that Conklin scored 13 on the bench? Or should I glaze the fact that Dobbins, Jacobs, Evans, and Andrews combined for less than 15 points? I don't think I should glaze this team. They might make the playoffs but it will not be in a way that causes me to glaze. Glaze or no glaze, they need to win these next two weeks.
6. The Bridge Road Orcas (📈+1)
Bridge Road came to play in a week 3 prove-it game. Aaron Jones is a monster, Drake London has had back to back nice games, Purdy balled out, and there appears to be some playable options on this bench. Winning this game drastically improved their playoffs odds on the season, but it's still an uphill battle. Jack will have to beat the Penguins this week if he wants a sense of security. Noah has talked shit about Jack for almost an entire year at this point, so a win would feel incredible. CMC is still preparing in the shadows, and if this team can find a way to win this week, will be coming back to a great situation. Things are looking up for the Orcas despite me saying they were endangered last week.
5. Sir, They Hit The Towers (📈+1)
The Towers put in a respectable week 3. Unlike many teams this week, the scoring output was extremely even. It's officially time for me to admit that I was wrong about Malik Nabers, who looks like he could single handedly carry the Giants offense. Some of the plays he made in Cleveland this week were unbelievable and reminded me of other great wideouts throughout the years. This team has been really steady roster wise through the first 3 weeks, which was not what I was expecting based on the pre-season and last year. I think this team has another level they can still hit, with the QBs largely underperforming vs. expectations. It's not a perfect team, but there's a ton to like. They have a huge test this week vs divisional rival Zark's Sharks. A win there would shoot them up this list.
4. Parma Pirates (📉-1)
It was a roller coaster for the Pirates this week. On Sunday, they were projected to lose to the Muff Punters, at one point projected to score only 80 points on the week. Of course, the team gutted it out, and dropped a very respectable 141 points. It's hard for me to place aside the feeling of seeing 80 projected points. I think this team has one of the highest scoring ceilings in the league on a given week, but the floor is lower than other teams in this range. I like my team a lot, but I need to see more from my QBs before I think I am truly a top team.
3. Bud Ice Penguins (📉-1)
The Penguins have now won 19 straight games. Yet, they drop on this list? Yes, they have gotten shit done this year so far, starting 3-0, but they really haven't been the best team. Their best shot at losing so far has been 101 points in week 1. They are 4th in the league in scoring, and have had the fewest points scored against them. Add in a recent development, a major trade with divisional rival Sacks in the City. These two teams were very close before the trade and remain close after, but I personally believe the Penguins took on more risk in the deal, as they now need Rice to continue his play at the superstar level. Noah will probably complain about this placement, but it's incredibly close. This trade does push the Penguins into last place on the FAAB outlook, which could matter if a big name free agent were to appear. A prove-it game against the Orcas should be this team's first real test. Lineup decisions will be crucial in week 4. With the Orcas and Sacks in the City on the schedule in back to back weeks, this may be the last time we talk about the winning streak in the present tense.
2. Sacks in the City (📈+2)
What a win. Fantasy Team pushed Nathan to the absolute limit, but he delivered in the clutch on Monday. My main takeaway of the week is that Jayden Daniels is an absolute stud. How is he this good as a rookie, and on the Commanders of all teams? Kyren Williams is one of the biggest sure things in the league right now, and King Henry found his footing in a pivotal spot for the Ravens and this fantasy team. They currently outpace the Penguins in points scored for the Johnson division, 2nd overall so far in the league. On top of this, Nathan is becoming one of the best managers in the league to me, as he works a blockbuster deal to bring CeeDee Lamb into the mix. While Rice has been everything this team has asked him to be, coming into the season this trade would look like such an obvious win for Sacks in the City. I think the trade raises the ceiling of this team while giving the team flexibility to raise its floor/depth with FAAB and Christian Kirk. This team has more pieces to trade than practically anyone else, so I expect a few more moves to cement this team as a contender.
1. Zark's Sharks (➖)
The Sharks have been the most consistent team of the year so far. They'd be 3-0 vs the Penguins, 2-1 vs Sacks in the City, and 2-1 vs the Pirates if they played them each week through week 3. This week was a relative step off the gas and yet, they lead the league in scoring overall by a solid 30 points on the season. This starting lineup is bulletproof when healthy. Hell, even the defense options and kicker are world class. The only hint of a concern I have is the RB depth on this team. Brian Robinson and ETN are solid starting options, but I think both are limited in terms of scoring ceiling. If Gibbs were to miss any time, I think it could put this team in danger. Even given this, there's so many bright spots everywhere else that it might not matter for the divisional race. This team has a real test against The Towers this week, but that loss would need to be particularly ugly for me to dethrone this team at #1 right now.
