Week 1: Matchups

Here are the matchups for the week. Week 1 is the first rivalry matchup of the season. Every team has something to prove, and it will be glorious to watch. I'm going to give some insight on the matchup and pick who I think will win. I'm not sure I'm going to do this every week, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Play Action Jackson vs. Arson Wentz

I feel a bit bad because this is the one main rivalry that has no real context. So I'm going to make some up right now: Jack Hurney had sex with Lamar Jackson's mom and then ghosted her. In response Play Action Jackson spun the block and shot up Jack's house and barely missed his rabbit, Pabu. Hate each other yet?

In all seriousness, I think these are two solid teams and I could see either taking week 1. I think both teams will put up 120+, but ultimately, I have a slight upset with Play Action Jackson having a week 1 winning combination of Dalvin Cook, Tony Pollard, Lamar Jackson, and Jared Goff. I think Arson Wentz will win the next two matchups, so if my prediction is right, this series is far from over.

Verdict: Play Action Jackson wins

PGH Crooners vs. Let's Go Brandon Aiyuk

This is a matchup I can't wait to watch. Both of these teams have a pretty good chance of making noise this season, and its very possible their series against each other determines which can make the playoffs. I think Nathan's team has a lot to prove, and that leaves the result very much in the air in week 1. I think Nathan may take this series, but I have Christian's squad shocking the world and taking the first matchup. If Nathan wins, I won't be shocked, but I think a welcome to Super League moment is coming. Also, I'm gonna start referring to Let's Go Brandon as Christian's Squad until a new name is announced.

Verdict: Christian's Squad wins

Slatt's Slimes vs. UNFINISHED BIZ

What a matchup honestly. I'm very glad Sam was added as he will be a great rival against Carter, and vice versa. I am predicting the winner of this series WILL make the playoffs. That means this matchup is huge. I see both teams winning at least one matchup of the three, but whoever takes game 1 has a big advantage. If Kelce was playing, then this would be very close and I may even pick Carter, but I gotta go with the better roster. Carter does have a real chance, but I would be slightly surprised.

Verdict: Slimes win

Zark's Sharks vs. Washington Fantasy Team

This should be the biggest wash of the week. The best team on paper versus the worst team on paper. Sharks are circling....

Verdict: Sharks win

Super League Matchup of the Week: Bud Ice Penguins vs. Parma Pirates

This is simply a huge matchup for both squads. For the Penguins, this is a must win as the franchise looks to turn around their losing image in Super League history, and to prove that they belong in the top tier of the league. For the Pirates, every matchup versus rivals is crucial, if they can manage to steal one now, they increase their playoff chances significantly in my opinion. This will be closer than some expect, but ultimately I give the edge to the Penguins in the first rivalry matchup.
